Cambodian Mushrooms
Commonly called Cambodian mushrooms, these species of mushrooms (herein referred to as Cambodia mushrooms) come from the area surrounding Angkor Wat, or the place of Cambodia’s ancient capital, Angkor, and have been show to grow faster and have a greater tolerance to their environment than most other strains of mushrooms in that area. There are many varieties of Cambodia mushrooms that can all be considered Cambodia cubensis mushrooms. These types of mushrooms are extremely valuable to grow because they can tolerate very warm and humid tropical climates and yield large, dense amounts of mushrooms.
In Cambodia, the mushrooms known as Cambodia cubensis mushrooms, or “Cambodian cubensis mushrooms” are scientifically classified as Psilocybe cubensis and belong to the Hymenogastraceae family. They naturally grow in the dung of water buffalo and other cattle in the humid subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Cambodia.
Common Features of Types of Cambodia Cubensis Mushrooms
The following is a complete list of the main physical features of the Cambodia black mushrooms:
(1) average size range of size of caps is approximately 1-1/4″ to 2-1/4″
(2) caps are rounded and have a bell-shaped appearance
(3) average color of caps, with average of brown and /or pale gold-colored caps
(4) stems can be somewhat slender when compared to “Ecuadorian” type mushrooms
(5) stems have a strong and /or wilted appearance
(6) average color of stems are white
(7) when touched, bruised/changed color blue
Spore Prints
Cambodia black psilocybe cubensis mushrooms have dark purplish-brown spore prints. An interesting feature of this strain is that they are heavy spore droppers, which is an excellent characteristic for use in making spore prints.

Psychoactive Effects
The Cambodian slippery caps contain both psilocybin (a prodrug) and psilocin (the active metabolite of psilocybin). The potency of the Cambodian slippery caps are approximately moderate with respect to the Ecuadorian slippery cap producing similar effects for the two of those slippery caps. Many users report their experiences with the Cambodian slippery caps are much more energetic than other mushroom species and tend to give a much higher level of philosophical insights. Creatively, the Cambodian slippery cap gives much less body load then most other mushrooms.

Growing The Cambodian Mushroom
The Cambodia slippery cap has earned itself the title of “beginner strain” because it is close to impossible to kill. It colonizes quickly and has a lot of heat tolerance like the Cambodian climate.
Temperature ranges for colonization: approximately 84degree – 88degree Fahrenheit (29degree – 31 degree Celsius).
Temperature ranges for fruiting: approximately 74degree – 82degree Fahrenheit (23degree – 28degree Celsius).
Performance: The Cambodian slippery cap will pin consistently faster than any other mushroom strain and will produce multiple flushes with little or no break time in between flushes.
